Inappropriate? No sweat, just uninstall the browser plug in and you will be off the radar. And if you change your mind and want to give us another spin, you can get back into the game by just reinstalling the extension

Inappropriate?Yeah, I'm kinda disappointed here. Mostly because I was looking forward to using this, but there's no way to remove content. So, I have no choice but to remove the plugin too. You say "you will be off the radar," but does that mean our existing stats are still held on to?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Heya -- in the next week or so, we'll be introducing a page that shows you every piece of information we have about you. You're free to delete anything / everything you want.
Hope this helps.I’m confident

Inappropriate? Thanks - and wow just the sound of, "every piece of information we have about you" is incredibly creepy.
I’m paranoid
-
I guess, but would you rather we give you a screen with "some" of the information we have about you? Maybe "a taste" of the information we have about you. Web sites collect information about their users; it's the nature of the beast. How many do you know that commit to showing every single thing we collect and giving users the ability to delete / any all of it?
Way to rain on our users' parade :) -
Inappropriate?I don't know if this has been stated elsewhere, but one thing that is important to mention is that apparently you do get emails from OneTrueFan that allow you to hide things. I received an email last night that said "Today you became a fan of these sites on OneTrueFan!" and next to each site was a "hide me on this site" link. After I clicked the link, it no longer showed me as the "One True Fan" for that site. This feels like it should be the obvious response to our concerns here...
I’m unsure

Totally. We still have a lot to do on our messaging :)
But I think there are still improvements on to be made feature-wise. -
Inappropriate? If I want someone to know something about where I go, I will post it - if I want my employer to see how many times I've gone to Monster in a week, or my wife to see how much porn I've viewed, or letting everyone know what banks I use, THEN this would be the site for me.
Get over yourself. You think I'M raining on their parade? Finding this out after one has signed up is Katrina all over their parade.I’m pissed
-
For the record, we don't work on porn, warez or secure (https) sites. And we have a growing list of sites that we greylist -- meaning we work, but we don't autocheckin unless a user manually chooses that option. These greylist sites are primarily added because users say "hey, this is a site that's a little sensitive."
I'm not sure what to say here. You don't like the service we provide. That's cool. You're on our community site calling us creepy. Not a fan of that, but that's you're prerogative.
What action do you want to see from us? -

Inappropriate?I just want to delete my profile when it becomes possible to do so, and I will avail myself of that when it is. In the meantime, I thought I'd let you know why. Do with that what you will.
I’m done

Inappropriate?perhaps the addition of a 'report this site' button so we can easily submit sites to you that we don't believe should be tracked? I've noticed a couple of NSFW sites popping up on some lists.
@Ciaoenrico it's an alpha! And if you think this is creepy you most certainly don't want to use facebook or google :P -
Exactly - it's an alpha, not Facebook or Google. I take the potential privacy raping from them under protest. But a site dedicated to it is - wait for it - creepy.
-
Love the idea. Have use used the little close button in the top right of the bar yet? We could either add a "report this site" option there or just start auditing all the domains that people hide from, for either blacklist or greylist.
-
lol ok then. Just remember that you chose and were not forced to sign up to the website or install the browser plugin, you did so knowing that the whole idea of one true fan is to basically track what websites your visit and earn yourself points based on this
-
@eric I think adding an extra option is probably better as it's a bit more obvious to the user. Could always do this and start taking a look at domains that are hidden more than say 5 times to add a bit of extra
This along with the upcoming page showing us all the information held will hopefully clear up any worries from people visiting sites they would rather not share etc -

Inappropriate?I would like to cancel my OneTrueFan account. How do I do this?

Hey Emily!
Sorry to see you go. No hard feelings, we understand that OneTrueFan isn't for everyone. If you uninstall the plugin, you can take yourself out of the game
I'm curious though, what was it that made you want to stop playing? Anything we can do to keep you in the game?
